So I’m trying a new workout circuit. I actually started on Saturday, but basically here is how it goes. Just do each of these exercises back to back with very little rest in a circuit. 30 reps each, light weight. Repeat the circuit 3 times. Rest one day in between workouts.
Basically, each exercise is working out a different part of the body (in parentheses), so you don’t really need to rest that long between each. You can even make the circuit longer by adding in more exercises just as long as the same part of the body is not worked out back to back. The idea is that the limited rest period allows for a strength workout and cardio at the same time, which makes for higher results. I’ve done two of these workouts already and it seems to be working, but my main goal is still to lose weight, not look swole lol. Lemme know if this works out for anyone.
Okay, so I posted an experiment earlier and lemme say that it actually is working. I have no idea why I didn’t record my weight before, but my weight now, as of this morning was 159.8. (my weight at the beginning was like 165 ish)
With this workout, I have been taking day breaks and I noticed that I am still maintaining my weight loss that started when I began this experiment like 2 weeks ago, I think. My boss was the one that told me about this and when I told him it was working, he started bragging that he was a fitness expert, it was so funny lol. So far, I’ve done about 5 of these workouts and I have already lost weight.
But anyways, the workout that I did isn’t anything new that no one has done before, its just something I haven’t done before. Maybe I should start P90x again. I remember stopping after week 4, but P90x was what actually started my weight loss goals and provided a catalyst for my exercise habits to the point where I could go to the gym and make my own workout without relying on a video. But I want to start the program again with me in better shape now than I was before to see if it will get me to meet my fitness goals.
Anyways, I’m gonna keep doing the experiment for a few more weeks, just until optometry school starts. Now that I have a weight posted, I can see what my weight is in August. For now, cya laterss
Just like to say happy 4th of July everyone! Time to celebrate with lots of food and fireworks. Wait, did I say food?? I better go to the YMCA before it closes at 6 lol.
Light the charcoal and rockets cause it’s gonna be a good night!
So my fellow fitblr, Rob, from the UK introduced me to Crossfit a while ago and I didn’t really do any of the workouts until today, where I decided to try it out. I did the WOD (workout of the day) from 8/7/2011, and I think I might keep doing it. Here’s the workout:
10 Handstand Push-ups
20 Wall-ball shots (20 lbs, 10 ft target)
30 Toes-to-bar
40 Power cleans (135 lb)
50 Burpees
60 Sumo deadlift high-pull (75 lb)
I had to look up the exercises online but it wasn’t too bad. I modified some of the weights because it was my first time doing it. For the wall ball, I did 6 lb which I think I could have done more. For the power cleans, I did 70 lb. For the sumo deadlift high-pull I did 30 lb. I think it was a good start to trying out crossfit. I might start doing it. I think that it is something new that seems cool.
Afterwards, I ran a mile and then went to class. I can try the WOD for tomorrow to see how it goes.
Total time for the WOD: 32 min. Not bad, although I’m not trying to compete with the other people on the site.
AAAHH! I’m running my longest race ever tomorrow and I’m nowhere near ready! Oh well, wish me luck!
So guys, I haven’t wrote anything in a while so here’s a little update on what Im doing for the next few months.
I signed up for the Warrior Dash on Dec. 3 in South Florida! Its gonna be so fun! I even got a bunch of my Optometry classmates to sign up also.
School has been good. I’ve been swamped with tests but I’ve been doing well. I even had time to squeeze in workouts regularly.
I must say I LOVE yoga. I have been doing it for about a month or 2 now and I always look forward to it every Monday. Its such a stress reliever and I need that for after tests every Monday. And it keeps your body flexible and healthy.
Well that’s all for now. I hope I can continue to do well in school and keep up with everything. Half marathon in 2 weeks!
Thanksgiving is coming up along with finals week and all I keep thinking about is Warrior Dash on Dec 3! I am so pumped to be doing this with a bunch of my classmates. Its gonna be so cool. I have been wanting to do Warrior Dash ever since I saw it randomly on the sidebar of Facebook. Stay tuned for details and photos!
So I’m updating about the weeks to come. It’s finals week (or finals 2 weeks) and I’m on the road to a long study schedule ahead. And right in the middle of finals is Warrior Dash! I think its gonna be fun. I haven’t had a chance to run in a while so I hope I will be fine.
Story of my life: Study, Gym, Race, Laundry, Eat lol
Hey guys, sorry I haven’t posted in a while. A lot has been going on in the past few weeks that I had no time to post. Basically, finals came up. We had to literally remember our whole semester in a few days. It was crazy, but I managed to get by with still an A average, lol.
Anyways, I forgot to post the pics of the Warrior Dash, which was awesome! If anyone is wondering if they should do it, just sign up. I went right in the middle of finals and still had a blast. Here are some pics:

Here’s me after the race trying to look tough, lol

I even kept the wristband on at Subway

I drove around with the medal in my car for a few days lol

Here’s all of the OD-1’s that came. We all ditched studying together! lol
Anyways, overall time was 36:19:15 for me. I tried to run the beginning part at first with my classmates but they told me to just go ahead, so I met them at the end. It was all about the experience this time. Next race, I prob will try to get a good time. 1968th place! Not bad, considering there were over 7000 people!! Thanks @wbaw for inspiring me to do the Warrior Dash
I also recently did another City Scramble, but this time in Orlando, so stay tuned for pics! And I will be doing another half marathon soon, so I will keep you guys updated as long as class doesn’t get too crazy. See u guys later!
